I'd like to work on interview-led and narrative series in English: full production, story editing, or stepping in for a specific stretch like field work or a difficult cut. I'm especially interested in public-interest and investigative stories, and I'm open to joining that kind of team on the production side.I also do the development side: finding the angle, designing the format, and building a production system that holds over time, for brands and media companies launching or relaunching a show. About Stefano
I'm a podcast producer and development strategist based in Rome, available in Italy and the Netherlands.
I've been making podcasts for the past few years, from independent narrative series to branded shows for clients like Engel & Völkers. At ODD Media I launched five original series from concept to distribution, and one of them, Messes, was named among Italy's best podcasts of 2024 by Questionidorecchio.it. I also spent some time at Will Media, helping with production and distribution for their catalog of original and branded series, and I contributed research to a 2023 whitepaper on the Italian podcast industry.
I like coming in early, when a show is still just an idea and the real work is figuring out what it's about and why anyone would keep listening. From there I can see it through to the final mix, or step in for just one part of it. And if you need someone on the ground in Italy or the Netherlands, for field recording, a tape sync or an in-person interview, or Italian-language research for an English-language show, that's me too.
I studied sociology and journalism, so I care a lot about whether a story actually holds up.
